The short version

Your messages are private. We deliver them once, and only if you stop responding to check-ins and a trusted person confirms with the Adde team.
Your data is stored with Vercel in Mumbai, India, and encrypted in transit.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. We use one cookie, to keep you logged in.
You can download your data or delete your account and everything in it from Settings.

This policy explains how Adde, operated by BeBurst Labs (“we”, “us”), handles your personal data. Adde is an early-stage product, so we keep things simple. This page is a plain-language description of our practices, not legal advice.

What Adde is

Adde lets adults (18+) write private messages — text, voice notes, photos and videos — to people they love. We keep them private. We ask you from time to time, “Still here?”. If you stop responding and a trusted person you named confirms with the Adde team, we deliver your messages, once. Adde is not a legal will.

What we collect

Account: your email address and password (stored hashed using scrypt, so we cannot read it), your name and date of birth.
Mobile number (optional): only if you choose WhatsApp or SMS reminders. We do not verify it.
Check-in preferences: how often we check on you, how we remind you and how long we wait.
Recipients: the name, phone, email and relationship of the people you write to.
Trusted people: their name, phone and relationship to you.
Your messages: the text, voice notes, photos and videos you add.
Session cookie: a cookie that keeps you logged in.

You give us this information yourself. Please make sure you have a good reason to share other people’s contact details, and that they would expect to hear from you.

How we use it

To run your account and keep your messages safe.
To send you check-in reminders by the method you chose.
To contact your trusted people and deliver your messages to your recipients, as you set up.
To keep the service secure and fix problems.

We rely on your consent, which you give when you sign up and set up your account. You can withdraw it at any time (see Your rights).

Where it is stored

Adde is hosted on Vercel. Your messages and media files are kept in Vercel Blob private storage, in the Mumbai, India region. Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only:

with your recipients and trusted people, as part of delivery, as you set it up;
with service providers that help us run Adde, such as our hosting provider and the services used to send reminders;
when the law requires it, for example a valid order from a court or authority.

Cookies

Adde uses one strictly necessary session cookie, to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of. If you block this cookie in your browser, you will not be able to log in.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

Access your data: Settings → Download my data.
Correct your data: edit it in Settings.
Erase your data: Settings → Delete account and all messages. This removes everything.
Withdraw consent at any time. Deleting your account does this; you can also contact us.
Seek grievance redressal by contacting us below.
Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, contacts, messages and media are removed. Once a message has been delivered to a recipient, we cannot take it back from them.

Age

Adde is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think someone under 18 has an account, please tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy as Adde grows. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will try to tell you in the app or by email.
